The Ecumenical Council for Homeless Prevention in Lincoln County, Maine
Since 2010, seven local churches have addressed homelessness in Lincoln County with volunteers staffing the ECHP HELP DESK every Tuesday morning from 9 am to 11am at the Second Congregational Church, in Newcastle, ME in conjunction with the weekly Food Pantry and Diaper Bank.

The ECHP meets monthly and is made up of representatives for these local churches and other related non-profit organizations in Lincoln County to help serve members of our community in need.
WHAT WE DO
ECHP HELP DESK
The HELP DESK operates with three guiding rules:

-
Assistance is limited to housing and energy needs;
-
Recipients are limited to residents of Lincoln County, and;
-
Assistance is provided to the same household only once per year.

The HELP DESK has a close working relationship with Tedford Housing Inc, the operator of adult and family shelters in Brunswick. We have access to Homelessness Prevention Caseworkers to assist with applications for housing vouchers and subsidized housing placements.

We also work closely with our Community Navigators at the CLC YMCA to connect those in need with all the resources available to them.
